Transmission Brut
Grands Millésimes

Our Transmission Brut cuvée embodies the noblest qualities of Champagne that time, patience, and rigor can reveal. Three magnificent vintages, aged over eight years on lees: a rare signature, contrary to the norm, for a wine of emotion and depth.

Virginie Taittinger & Ferdinand Pougatch, Cellar Masters

Transmission is an ode to assembly, in the noblest sense of the term.

The blend is 85% Premier and Grand Cru vineyards, revealing the ambition of this vintage:

to represent the best of Champagne, with precision and exacting standards.

At VIRGINIE T., we have chosen to make the Transmission cuvée an exceptional creation , made only with the finest vintages.

No concessions, no artificial regularity: no Transmission in 2017, for example.

We prefer silence to ease, fidelity to excellence rather than frequency.

Transmission Grands Millésimes is thus composed of a unique blend of the years 2012, 2013 and 2014, constructed in the manner of a perpetual reserve , to express at the same time the maturity, the freshness, and the complexity of time.

A complex champagne for simple pleasures

The chic bistro agreement

A few gougères with 18-month aged Comté cheese, still warm, are enough to reveal the creamy texture and brioche notes of the wine.

The noble iodine accord

Seared scallops, a drizzle of olive oil and a touch of lemon zest: a play of contrasts between the sweetness of the fruit and the tension of the wine.

The agreement of character

A bloomy rind cheese like a mature Brie de Meaux or Chaource, which echoes the vinosity and the melting of champagne, in a delicate but profound accord.

An autolytic vintage, far from the standards

This champagne has spent more than 8 years on its lees, a long aging process — twice the average for major houses — which gives the wine a creamy texture, fine effervescence and exceptional aromatic depth.

It contains rare aromas:

Warm brioche, gingerbread, candied zest, white peach, dried fruit, chalk, and a persistent, almost saline minerality that marks the origin of the terroirs.
